Terms of service

1. The agreement

These terms are a binding agreement between you and ApplyStory. If you use ApplyStory on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for all activity under your account. Notify us at support@applystory.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

3. Acceptable use

• No unlawful, deceptive or discriminatory hiring practices.
• No scraping, reverse engineering or reselling the service without written permission.
• No uploading of malicious content or content you do not have the rights to use.
• No attempts to bypass rate limits, quotas or security controls.

4. Plans, credits and billing

Paid plans and top-ups are billed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. AI search and Copilot credits reset monthly on the plan cycle. Purchased top-ups are non-refundable except where required by law. Prices may change with 30 days notice for renewals.

5. Content and data

You retain ownership of the content you upload. You grant ApplyStory a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, transcribe, score and index that content solely to operate the service for you. Candidate submissions belong to the hiring company that received them.

6. AI outputs

AI scoring, tags, transcripts and Copilot answers are decision support, not decisions. Recruiters remain solely responsible for hiring outcomes and for reviewing candidates fairly. You must not use AI outputs to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on candidates without meaningful human review.

7. Privacy

Our processing of personal data is described in the Privacy policy. Enterprise customers can request a signed Data processing agreement.

8. Termination

You can stop using ApplyStory at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law. On termination, we may delete your data after a reasonable grace period.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ApplyStory will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. Our total liability arising out of or relating to these terms will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where ApplyStory is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. Courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms.
